HTC promises “spectacular” selfies with the dual front camera of its new HTC U11 Eyes.
After Oppo and its 20-megapixel selfie camera, it’s the turn of the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC to present the U11 Eyes, a reworked version of its recent U11 equipped with a dual 5-megapixel front camera specifically dedicated to the taking selfies.
Of course, HTC has taken care to add the latest trendy software features – Bokeh mode, HDR Boost, and Beauty Mode – to its HTC U11 Eyes to magnify all your selfies. But this double camera is also used for the “Face Unlock” function of unlocking by facial recognition.
While the HTC U11 Eyes and previous models share roughly the same design and features, such as Edge Sense technology with pressure-sensitive side edges, the specs of this new model are less impressive. We find a Snapdragon 652 processor, a 12-megapixel camera, a fingerprint reader on the back and a 3930 mAh battery. The 6-inch 18: 9 aspect ratio screen is slightly larger than the original UAA screen.
THE HTC U11 has just been launched at a price of $ 500 on the Hong Kong market in 64GB red, silver or black. It should be distributed in China this month, but no international release is announced yet. Too bad for the European selfie-maniacs who will be content with a single camera.
