Last week during the Game Developer Conference, Funcom presented the trailer for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden and unveiled the game behind closed doors. In this day, he launches a 30-minute unplayed gameplay showing the game in all its glory.
The game, which is being developed by Bearded Ladies and published by Funcom, will be released in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Players must take control of a team of unlikely heroes, such as Dux (a duck who carries a crossbow, walks and talks) and Bormin (a boar with serious anger problems), to enter a post-human land with its abandoned cities, crumbling roads and mutated monsters in every corner. The team behind the game includes the former ‘HITMAN’ leaders, as well as Ulf Andersson, the designer of ‘PAYDAY’.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden works under Unreal Engine and is based on the classic ‘Mutant’, IP that has generated several popular role-playing games, those of pens and paper, since the 1980s, including the current ‘Mutant: Year Zero ‘by Free League and Modiphius Entertainment.
The IP is owned by Cabinet Group and the interactive rights are controlled by Heroic Signatures, a company owned by Cabinet Group and Funcom.
