Everything about ONEPLUS 5T

Only a few months after the excellent OnePlus 5 this summer, the Chinese brand launches a new flagship, the OnePlus 5T. It adopts the 2017 standard and switches to “borderless” 18: 9, among other small changes. Do they make the difference?

The OnePlus 5T is above all a variant of the OnePlus 5, thus taking up most of its technical features. It stands out however by its borderless 6-inch screen and the change of its second rear sensor.

Aside from the screen, the camera is certainly the biggest change of the OnePlus 5T. If the main module does not change (Sony IMX 398 16 megapixel sensor with f / 1.7 lenses), the second pass from a telephoto lens opening to f / 2.0 to a module of the same focal length also opening to f / 1.7.

When the light conditions fall below 10 lux, it is the second sensor (Sony IMX 376K) that takes over. It uses the “Intelligent Pixel” technology to group 4 pixels in 1 to absorb more light and reduce the noise on the final shot. Less diversity for more quality so.

During the day, the quality is the same as on the OnePlus 5, namely that light and colors are well managed, even against the light. The dive is correct, but we have already seen better. Moreover, the autofocus is very fast, but it happens to have some failures, even in full day.

Despite the enlargement of the screen, OnePlus decided not to integrate a larger battery in the 5T compared to the OP5. We are therefore in the presence of a battery of 3300 mAh, which is in the right average. Logically, the OP 5T is less autonomous than its predecessor.

  • The picture always a (small) little dusty.
  • The speaker is easily clogged.
  • We hopeless bad buzz than on the OP5 (jelly effect …).
